Product Information

Area of application
  • TRAYKLEEN is a chlorinated caustic cleaner and may be used in all food industries including dairies, abattoirs, beverage plants, food processing plants and hatcheries.
  • TRAYKLEEN efficiently removes fats, oils, proteins and other related soils.
Benefits

TRAYKLEEN, being a liquid, is:

  • Easy to dispense or dose.
  • Economical to use at recommended concentrations.
  • Effective in hard or soft water.
  • Enhances protein peptizing.
  • Easily removes protein scale.
Mode of action
In chlorinated alkaline cleaners, the chlorine does not only serve as a sanitizing agent, but more as a peptizing agent for protein soils. The proteins form the link between the mineral deposits and the fatty particles. Under alkaline conditions, the caustic soda denatures the proteins therefore breaking the links between the mineral deposits and the fat particles. This denaturing action is greatly enhanced in the presence of chlorine. This breakdown of proteins then enables the caustic soda to remove the fat particles by saponification action.
